We’re building a high-performing board to steward standards, selections, partnerships, and the honoree experience for the Mississippi Hall of Fame. Preference given to: current/former BEICC (Chamber) members and BOMA nominees, honorees, or winners—but skilled leaders statewide are welcome to apply. Time: Bi-monthly meetings, 2–4 hrs/month committee work, event-weekend availability (April).

The History

 

The brainchild Dr. Kathy Amos, Founder/CEO of Business Empowered International-Mississippi Chamber of Commerce, The Best of Mississippi Awards was created to recognize and celebrate distinguished individuals and businesses statewide. While Dr. Amos initially focused on honoring women via the Empowering Progressive Women's Association, her passion for recognition expanded to encompass both genders.
Since its inception, The Best of Mississippi Awards has received over 5.000 nominations in various categories. The most recent award ceremony took place on October 7, 2023, at The Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, MS, marking yet another significant milestone in its journey.

The Best of Mississippi Awards - Top 50 Men in Business Awards Luncheon Highlights

    Guidelines for Nomination

    NOMINATION GUIDELINES

    1. Must nominate using a valid email address. 
    2. Must live in the state of Mississippi
    3. Must be 18 years or older
    4. Must show proof of licenses
    5. If you have a salon, it must be strictly for natural hair care and licensed to operate with the state of Mississippi.
    6. Must be present at the Jxn Natural Hair Expo to receive awards. The Best of Mississippi Awards requires all official nominees to be present at the time of the announcing of the winners. If you are unable to attend. You must designate a representative to accept your award on your behalf. 
    7. You are required to purchase your choice of a ticket guest ticket or VIP ticket upon receiving your Letter of Acceptance via email.
    8. Nominations are open to the public and ends November 15th.
    9.  Deadline for all Nominations to be accepted by the nominee is Monday, November 27th. NO EXCEPTIONS.
