The brainchild Dr. Kathy Amos, Founder/CEO of Business Empowered International-Mississippi Chamber of Commerce, The Best of Mississippi Awards was created to recognize and celebrate distinguished individuals and businesses statewide. While Dr. Amos initially focused on honoring women via the Empowering Progressive Women's Association, her passion for recognition expanded to encompass both genders.
Since its inception, The Best of Mississippi Awards has received over 2,700 nominations in various categories. The most recent award ceremony took place on October 7, 2023, at The Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, MS, marking yet another significant milestone in its journey.
